....and knitting!

Every once in a while a book comes along that captures not only the beauty of knitting, but its true essence as well.  Such a book is JuJu's Loops, which contains gorgeous patterns from Juju Vail and Susan Cropper of Loop, London. Lace shawls and wraps, fingerless gloves, scarves, shrugs, cowls, a baby sweater. toy, blanket, hat and swing sweater are shown in the context of outstanding photography and styling.  This book is only available in a limited quantity, at the moment, so we suggest that you hurry on down and take a look. Be warned, however, some of us found it impossible to put it down.

And, to accompany .our new line of Fyberspates Yarns (available in every weight and most colors), we just received the following 3 pattern books

Left:The Baby Collection is a great source for all things baby; it uses, as you would expect, finer weight fyberspates yarns - the colors are soft and modern, as befits one of today's babies.

Center:An exciting new collaboration between Ysolda Teague and Fyberspates is  Saturday Treat, which  features a hand-picked Ysolda-recommended color palette for Fyberspates Scrumptious, a luxurious wool/silk blend with a beautiful sheen.  Containing patterns for pretty little additions to your wardrobe, or gifts that you know will be treasured, all of the designs feature interesting details against a relaxing background.

Right:  The Scrumptious Collection, Vol.1, contains 20 patterns that show off the Scrumptious yarn range to its full potential. Ranging from quick knits, like the fab chunky hat, shown on the cover,  to lightweight cardigans and accessories.

Also just in  the store is Ysolda's newest:  Whimsical Little Knits #3

Find patterns for fun little projects that are perfect gifts for yourself or anyone on your list: socks, hats, shawls and more. Clear directions, a choice of charts, whenever appropriate, and interesting techniques and construction methods insure your valuable knitting time is well spent.

Those who fell in love with the book: Birds, Butterflies and Little Beasts to Knit & Crochet, will be interested in seeing the new book, from the same author: Shells, Fish & Sea Creature.  Now you can  find another use for those wonderful little bits of yarn and notions that you couldn't bear to throw away!

While the books have been pouring in, we have not exactly gone wanting in the accessory department.  We just received a whole new collection of great accessories for the smart knitter from Chic-A, a company that specializes in combining practical and whimsical fun in their useful products:

Chica's cheerful print yarn keepers, zipper pouches, and handy carryalls are now in the store.
