This month we are celebrating the goodness of our community. Thank you to all who came to the store last Saturday and helped to support "Room to Read." Your generous purchases and donations enabled the non-profit that benefits Children's Literacy in Asia and Africa to raise over $800 toward their mandate to build critical reading skills and help young women in the fight for educational equality.
November 28 is Small Business Saturday, nationwide. We hope you will come visit us and help to support this important annual event. Small businesses are the lifeblood of all cities. They help to keep a neighborhood unique and self-sustaining. On that day, we will be contributing 10% of the day's sales to the non-for-profit Doctors without Borders.
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is non-profit, international association. The association is made up mainly of doctors and health sector workers and is also open to all other relevant professions for help in achieving its aims. Doctors without Borders provides assistance to populations in distress, victims of natural or man-made disasters and victims of armed conflict. They do so irrespective of race, religion, creed, or political convictions. For information, visit here: www.doctorswithoutborders.org
